Emergency Services

The Office of Emergency Management (OEM) provides coordination, leadership, planning, education and resources to help protect lives, property, and the environment in Arapahoe County, Centennial, and Englewood.

The Douglas County Office of Emergency Management is the main hub for the coordination of disaster management and training; homeland security; emergency preparedness and education; multi-agency cooperation; and emergency medical and trauma system coordination within the county.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Emergency Management and Preparedness team employs experts in disaster preparedness for all kinds of hazards, including wildfire. The team works to continually evaluate potential hazards and seeks ways to keep citizens and emergency responders prepared for natural and man-made disasters.

The Division leads the State’s response to emergencies and disasters while providing for the safety and welfare of its citizens.

The Disaster Assistance Improvement Program’s (DAIP) mission is to provide disaster survivors with information, support, services, and a means to access and apply for disaster assistance through joint data-sharing efforts between federal, tribal, state, local, and private sector partners.

Part of the Department of Homeland Security; includes information about on-going disaster responses, various response plans, key emergency management officials at the State and local levels, documents, and other resources.

The Science and Technology Directorate’s (S&T’s) First Responder Capability program provides technical assistance and develops innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges faced by first responders, emergency managers, and incident commanders as they respond to hazardous situations. The program strengthens the abilities of our communities to protect the homeland and respond to disasters.

ASPR leads the nation's medical and public health preparedness for, response to, and recovery from disasters and public health emergencies. ASPR constantly scans the horizon to prepare for whatever emergency may come next, whether natural or manmade.

The U.S. Fire Administration (USFA) provides training, research and outreach to help keep emergency medical services (EMS) personnel and their patients safe and help prepare fire departments for special EMS operations.
