Identifying Author Credentials

Articles that are marked Peer-Reviewed are from reputable journals who have already vetted the author. Most articles will have the author's place of employment on the article itself. This is usually a University, but may sometimes be a different type of institution. Here is an example:

These names have a superscript number, which often denotes a footnote. So I scroll to the bottom of the page and locate the author's institutions there.

Their credentials look good; they all went to reputable schools. So let's see what else they've done, who knows they may have written other articles related to your research. Google their name and subject specialty. in this case I searched "Kathleen M Sheridan education" My first result is her page on her university's website found here. Most universities will have profile pages like this for their professors. You can see her education, publications and other information.
