Brookings Institute
The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C. Their mission is to conduct in-depth, nonpartisan research to improve policy and governance at local, national, and global levels. The Brookings Center on Social Dynamics and Policy applies complex systems science to the study of social dynamics and their implications for policy, mainly through the use of computational modeling and simulation.
Institute for Research on Poverty
The Institute for Research on Poverty is at the University of Wisconsin and much of their research is funded by the Wisconsin state agency partners. IRP researches the causes and consequences of poverty and inequality in the United States. They bring together social scientists from across research disciplines such as economics, sociology, social work, and demography.
National Institute on Aging
NIA, one of the 27 Institutes and Centers of NIH, leads a broad scientific effort to understand the nature of aging and to extend the healthy, active years of life. NIA is the primary Federal agency supporting and conducting Alzheimer's disease and related dementias research.

Sociology, an official journal of the British Sociological Association, is acknowledged as one of the leading journals in its field. Every article is peer-reviewed. Not every article is Open Access but most are.
Canadian Journal of Sociology
The Canadian Journal of Sociology publishes rigorously peer-reviewed Open Access research articles and innovative theoretical essays by social scientists from around the world, providing insight into the issues facing Canadian society as well as social and cultural systems in other countries. The Canadian Journal of Sociology ceased publishing in 2022. These archives are maintained by the University of Alberta Library.
Qualitative Sociology Review
This journal is international in scope and is affiliated to the Faculty of Economics and Sociology of the University of Lodz in Poland. All articles are open access and peer reviewed.
