Open Access Journals

Open access is a publishing model for scholarly communication that makes research information available to readers at no cost, as opposed to the traditional subscription model in which readers have access to scholarly information only by accessing that information via a paid subscription or via an institution that pays a subscription fee. (usually via libraries). You can search for Open Access Journals via the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). DOAJ is an index of diverse open access journals from around the world that is committed to ensuring quality, freely available content. Use the filters along the right side to choose materials that is appropriate to your assignment.

You may for example, want to select Free (to ensure that there is no cost), a Subject Area such as SOCIOLOGY (under SOCIAL SCIENCES), the Language(s) of the articles, and PEER REVIEW (to ensure that the articles went through an academic quality control process).
