Attribution & Giving Credit

Regardless of the specific licensing requirements, it is important to provide an Attribution when using Open Educational Resources. Use the attribution builders (below the examples) to help you create your statement.

Generally, you will need to include a statement that gives credit to the author with the following items:

  • Title of resource

  • Author name (with link if possible)

  • The license (with a link if possible)

  • Notices from the copyright holder (if any)

  • If you changed the resource, a notification that this is a "derivative work"

The final product should look like this (with linked text when available):

"Title of resource" by Author, used under Licensing Agreement/Modified from the original (if modified)
