High Impact Practices (HIPs)

Colorado HIPs

The What and Why of the HIPs Functional Group

We share resources and expertise to strategize, implement, and  assess High Impact Practices across CCCS to improve student success for all students, to include equitable results for students who are historically underrepresented in college success measures. Because of HIPs proven success for students, nationally and at PPSC, and its power as an equity pedagogy, a CCCS functional group, with representation from each college, has been convened to explore and facilitate the implementation of HIPs throughout the Colorado Community College System. The group has established goals and timelines, identified potential grant opportunities and modes for sharing professional development tools, and collaborates on implementation challenges and successes. In time, the group may also consider connections to four-year university goals and future partnerships.

This group meets monthly. If you are interested in joining us contact us at HIPs@pikespeak.edu.
