Metacognition is the process of thinking about ones thinking
- It is used to make decisions that maximize learning outcomes and help students meet their goals
- It is thinking not just about the what of learning but the HOW
- It helps us see which cognitive strategies need to occur so we're best prepared for a test/assignment
- It shows us what we need to do differently to be successful
- It involves making connections
