The National Weather Service provides a large amount of national and local weather forcasting, warnings and alerts.  One can also find education materials on a wide variety of weather events and phenomenon, including avalanches

OpenSnow provides snow reports for ski resorts and areas across the country. Weather forecasting services and avalanche condition reporting for backcountry zones in Colorado and nationally can be found here.

On X backcountry GPS logo

On X Backcountry provides GPS services and terrain information for backcountry travel. The ability to download detailed maps for offline viewing and tracking is a great tool in the backcountry. Other features include slope shading tools for determining slope angles and potential overhead hazards, weather information,  and 3D mapping for better understanding of terrain. A premium subscription ins $29.99.
