RefWorks is a citation tool that will help you create and manage your citations! RefWorks can be used to organize, store, and share references. 

You can use RefWorks to:

  • Store references and full text documents
  • Organize and highlight your documents
  • Share stored document collections with other users
  • Instantly create citations for documents, as well as a bibliography

How to get started

Locate RefWorks from the MCC Library A-Z Databases list and click the link. 

Click on Create Account at the bottom of the white box in the center. Enter your student email (@student.cccs.edu). RefWorks will send you a confirmation email with a link to create your password.

Access RefWorks from Microsoft Word

You can connect RefWorks to Microsoft Word and access it directly from the Word app! Follow the short steps shown in the video above.

Note: If you do not see the Get Add-Ins button under Insert, use the search bar above to search for "Add-In" and select Insert an Add-In.

Importing PubMed into RefWorks

PubMed does not offer a direct export to RefWorks, but you are still able to create a file using PubMed that can then be imported into RefWorks!
